Asus ROG Phone 5 spotted in the wild, to be announced on March 10

Asus has a successor ready for the ROG Phone 3. Not the ROG Phone 4 because 4 is consider an unlucky number in China, so we're going straight to the ROG Phone 5. Not only was it spotted in the wild, we also know when it will be officially announced.

In fact, the Asus ROG Phone 5 will be announced on March 10. Asus has listed that date on its website along with a countdown timer. Because of the time difference, Americans on the east coast can already welcome it on March 9. Hands-on images of the ROG Phone 5 recently appeared on YouTube

This video shows a second screen on the back of the device that can be used for notifications. But Asus is also free to display visual effects on it. As for the other specifications, we can only guess. It is possible that the screen on the front will be slightly larger, but we think that many of the features of the Asus ROG Phone 3 will remain the same. Simply because they were already very high-end.

So think of an AMOLED panel with high refresh rate, a 6000 mAh battery but that may be faster to charge, lots of RAM memory and of course the latest and newest Snapdragon processor from Qualcomm. That would have to be the Snapdragon 888.

Asus is also known for launching its ROG Phones with interesting accessories. We haven't heard much about that yet so maybe Asus will have a surprise in store March 10.
