POCO X2 officially announced with large and fast screen

POCO, recently a sub-brand of Xiaomi, has announced its POCO X2. Actually a Redmi K30 but intended for the international market. A successor to the Poco F1 it is not but one with competitive characteristics.

First of all, the screen. With a diagonal of 6.67 inches it is not very small and with a refresh rate of 120 Hz it is not very slow. POCO calls its screen RealityFlow and with a screen ratio of 20:9 it is ideal for viewing cinematic content. In the upper right corner, a double self-image camera is hidden in a screen hole. This is a 20 + 2 megapixel specimen with artificial intelligence to compensate for wide-angle lens distortion.

POCO X2 prices

On the back of the POCO X2 we find a 64 megapixel main camera, 8 megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2 megapixel macro lens. All lenses are located in a strikingly round camera island and offer plenty of possibilities on paper for many situations. Inside is a Snapdragon 730G, 6GB of RAM and 4500 mAh battery. Charging can be done via USB-C but not wirelessly. However, there is a 3.5 mm audio jack connection. Otherwise nice to have; infrared. This allows you to turn off the remote control of your TV.

Uncertainty about European launch

The housing is not waterproof but has been given a water-repellent treatment. For this POCO uses the P2i coating. Available colors are Matrix Purple, Atlantis Blue and Phoenix Red. Models are available with 64GB and 128GB storage (6GB RAM) and 256GB (8GB RAM). Prices start at 200 euro for the first model and 260 for the last. It is not yet clear if the device will be sold outside India and when it should be sold.
