Oppo launches A54s with some downgrades

Oppo has launched the A54s; a smartphone with 5000 mAh large battery and a 50MP Triple camera. As the successor to the A53s, Oppo seems to make some unusual choices.

The A54s is a 6.52-inch smartphone with a generous 5000 mAh battery for nearly a day of YouTube viewing. And thanks to a special energy-saving mode, you can still squeeze several hours out of a few percentage points. The device also stands out thanks to its triple camera system with 50+2+2 megapixels.

As for the camera is concerned, that sounds like a big upgrade. After all, the Oppo A53s didn't go beyond 13MP. But in some ways, the Oppo A54s also goes backwards. For example, the high 90Hz screen refresh rate is no more and the Qualcomm Snapdragon processor is traded in. In its place, we get a screen panel of "just" 60Hz and a chipset from MediaTek.

HD+ Eye-care and System Booster

According Oppo that should not be a problem because it is still an HD + Eye-care Display what means that brightness is automatically adjusted to its surroundings making reading more friendly to the eyes. And there's no slowing down thanks to System Booster, which automatically optimises system processes to avoid lag.

50MP AI Triple Camera

Oppo also estimates that consumers will be more easily persuaded by the updated and higher resolution camera sensor. This 50MP sensor should be able to capture more detail and light due to its increased size. The other 2 cameras are both 2MP and are used to shoot depth and extreme close-ups (macro).
