The Oppo A54s is an affordable smartphone with a big battery, a 50MP camera, and enough space to store all those high-resolution photos and videos. But the A54s is also a phone that lacks a few things. What exactly you can read here.
In a nutshell, the A54s from Oppo is a 50MP camera phone with a big battery for less money. It doesn't have 5G, but that shouldn't be a problem if you're not specifically looking for that. The front screen measures a generous 6.52 inches with a V-shaped notch at the top for the 8MP selfie camera. That screen displays HD images with a resolution of 1600 by 720 pixels. That's sharp enough for every-day use, but if you often read text in a small font, it could have been crisper. It is a pity that the smooth 90Hz display of its predecessor has disappeared. This A54s refreshes images with an old-fashioned 60 times per second.
Indeed the Oppo A54s' most significant plus is its 50MP camera. It shoots sharp photos in a high resolution and with 5x digital zoom. Remember to select this high 50-megapixel resolution after purchase because it is lower by default. Possibly to save storage. Strange because it comes with 128GB of standard storage which is above average. On the rear we also find a 2MP macro and a 2MP depth camera. This allows you to shoot close-ups of, for example, flowers and blur backgrounds. The latter is useful for portrait photos. All this, including the large 5000 mAh battery, makes the A54s a compelling phone.
Oppo has equipped the A54s with a MediaTek Helio G35. That's a mid-range processor for basic use. Oddly, Oppo was still using the more powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 460 with the A53s, though both don't differ much in a benchmark. RAM comes out to 4GB which is average and sufficient for most cases. On top of Android, Oppo applies its ColorOS shell, which includes additional features. This provides extra functionality and looks just a bit nicer but also takes a bite from its performance. As a result, the A54s is not flashy and fast.

To save on costs, Oppo did not create its own video for the A54s. We therefore turn to Conor who takes a closer look at the A54s for us
