The Xiaomi Mi 11i is the European version of the Mi 11 Pro. The latter is only available in home country China. In both cases, we are talking about a flagship phone with 108MP camera, 120Hz AMOLED screen and a powerful Snapdragon 888 processor. What's in it for you and if you need all that power, we're happy to explain here
Highly rated display
Tastes differ but we think the Xiaomi Mi 11i is one of the most beautiful phones at the moment, especially the back. But more about that later. The Mi 11i has a flat 6.67 inch screen of Gorilla Glass 5 on the front. The sides are rounded and matte finished, the back is fingerprint resistant. The screen is maximised by thin bezels and a discreetly small 2.76 millimetre punch-hole for the selfie camera. Animations are buttery smooth thanks to the 120Hz high refresh rate and higher 360Hz touch sampling rate. The faster the Mi 11i can register your touch the sooner it responds. This is especially useful when gaming where every second counts. Xiaomi applies a Samsung E4 AMOLED panel with high FHD+ resolution for sharp images and rich colour reproduction with high contrast values. The maximum brightness is 1300 nits so you can also read it outdoors in full day-light. The screen doesn't read your fingerprint though, the power button on the side does that for you. All this makes the screen good enough to be rated A+ by DisplayMate.
108MP camera for extreme detail
We already briefly mentioned its beautiful back. The symmetrical camera module caresses the eye. At the top is the 108MP main camera, below that is the 8MP ultra wide angle with a sensor on the right, at the bottom you will find a 5MP telemacro camera. The advantage of more megapixels is that you can capture more detail. They sometimes say that two eyes see more than one. In the case of the Mi 11i, that equates to nine seeing more than one. Nine pixels are combined into one extra large pixel of 2.1µm in size. A larger pixel captures more light, which results in a better nite mode. The ultra wide angle is ideal for spatial shots where you want to get as much as possible in the picture. The telemacro is used to make close-ups of, for example, jewellery or flowers. There is no separate zoom lens, but you can zoom in on the 108MP large sensor. The front features a 20MP camera for selfies, and is equipped with its own nite mode and can also be used for face unlocking.

4520 mAh large battery with 33W fast charging
High performance is guaranteed by a Snapdragon 888 processor from Qualcomm. We find this top model in many other flagships, altho they are often much more expensive than this Mi 11i. The chipset has 5G support for fast mobile internet. The RAM memory is a neat 8GB, the storage memory is available in 128 and 256GB versions. In terms of colours, there is a choice of Cosmic Black, Frosty White and Celestial Silver which we find more blue than silver. The battery inside is 4520 mAh in size and can be charged quickly with 33W. The Mi 11i features stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos and has been released with MIUI 12 which is based on Android 11. All in all, a very complete phone that is not inferior to many other flagships. But then a lot cheaper. If you want to go even further, you can consider the Xiaomi Mi 11.
Xiaomi has announced a new fast charging technology named HyperCharge. It can fully charge a 4000mAh phone battery in just 8 minutes. In addition to wired, a wireless version of HyperCharge has also been announced.
We can't escape from it; recharging our phone battery every now and then. Most of us do it every day. With this invention by Xiaomi nothing changes about that, except that charging takes much less time than usual. From 0 to 100% in just 8 minutes. The wired version of HyperCharge works with 200W but there is also a wireless version that works with 120W. A full charge then takes 15 minutes.
Charge up to 100% in just 8 minutes using wired charging and 15 minutes wirelessly! #XiaomiHyperCharge
How much is 200 Watts? Samsung's Galaxy S21 work with just 25 Watts and the iPhone 12 comes in at a measly 15 Watts. The more power the charger can send towards the phone battery, the faster it can charge. That is how it works in a nutshell, altho there is of course much more to it. So much so that you won't find HyperCharge on mobile phones for a while yet. Not even from Xiaomi.
In the demo shown by Xiaomi, HyperCharge works on a modified Mi 11 Pro. We are still waiting for a phone announcement from Xiaomi on which HyperCharge is a standard feature. The previous record was also held by Xiaomi; the Mi 10 Ultra could be charged with a maximum of 120 Watt. However, Xiaomi had to share that record with the Vivo iQOO 7, which could also be charged with a maximum of 120 Watts.
