Xiaomi has announced the Mi MIX 4 for home market China. The Mix series consists of innovative products that do things a little differently. So does this Mix 4 with its selfie camera beneath the screen.
Three generations, 5 years, 60 patents and 77 million Dollars. That is what the Camera Under Panel design of the Mi Mix 4 has cost. The result is supposed to be an almost invisible selfie camera. It sits behind the 6.67-inch AMOLED panel with 120Hz refresh and 10-bit colour reproduction.
The CUP camera has a 20MP resolution but shoots pictures of 5MP thanks to Pixel Binning. On the back of the Mix 4, Xiaomi fits a 108MP main camera, 13MP ultra-wide-angle and 8MP periscope lens with 5x optical and 50x digital zoom. And just in case you're not yet convinced that the Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 is high-end: it features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+, 120W fast charging, Ultra Wide Band (UWB) positioning and a premium ceramic body.
Sales in China
Xiaomi will release the Mi Mix 4 in 8/128, 8/256, 12/256 and 12/512GB versions in Ceramic Grey, Ceramic White and Ceramic Black. But first only in China starting from August 16, 2021. Whether the device will also be sold outside mainland China remains to be seen.
