For the first time, press material of the Samsung Galaxy S24 series seems to have surfaced. We have images showing the S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra, but also specifications. That combination casts a good look at what will come in early 2024.
All credits go to WindowsReport which was the first to publish press materials of the S24, S24+ and S24 Ultra. Last year, we were the first to publish images of the Ultra, but you can't win them all. At least it saves us a lot of time handling Samsung's legal department.
The Galaxy S24 and S24+ are expected in four colours: Onyx Black, Marble Grey, Cobalt Violet, and Amber Yellow. The screen size of the S24 goes up to 6.2 inch and for the S24+ to 6.7 inches.
Difference S24 and S24+
This time, Samsung plans on bringing more difference between the entry-level S24 and the larger S24 Plus. For example, the Plus version again gets a higher QHD+ resolution instead of the FHD+ on the S24. The two models also differ in terms of the processor. The S24 is powered by the Samsung Exynos 2400 chip, the S24+ is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
You can get the S24 starting with 128GB of storage; the S24+ starts at 256 GB. The latter's battery is not 4000mAh in size but 4900mAh. Both models have the same camera system. That consists of a 12MP primary camera with a wide-angle lens, a 50MP ultra-wide-angle, and a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. Both models also share the same selfie camera with a resolution of 12MP.
Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra
The top model, the S24 Ultra, also comes out in four colours. These colours are similar to those of the S24/S24+ but are called Titanium Black, Titanium Grey, Titanium Violet, and Titanium Yellow. That name is not accidental; it references the new frame made out of titanium. This immediately debunks the rumour that the S24 gets a titanium frame.
The screen size of the S24U is expected to be 6.8 inches, displaying a high QHD+ resolution and with a maximum screen refresh rate of 120Hz. The camera system consists of a 200MP primary camera with a wide-angle lens, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and two telephoto cameras. One camera has 3x zoom, while the second gets up to 5x closer. That's less than the 10x zoom of the S23 Ultra but should be more beneficial for every-day use.

We also expect a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor in the S23 Ultra, this time with 12GB of RAM. Three storage options are available: 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB. Samsung saved the largest battery for the Ultra. It measures 5000mAh in capacity and can be charged quickly, wired, and wirelessly. How fast remains to be seen.
Samsung wants to promote the S24 series as an AI phone and has some pre-installed AI apps. One of them is a messaging app with real-time translations. More AI apps are expected to be demonstrated at Unpacked Event, where Samsung will unveil the series. All these features demand a lot from the processor. Samsung has taken additional measures to prevent overheating. The vapour chamber is said to be between 1.5x and 1.9x larger compared to last year.
