Official pictures of foldable Samsung Galaxy Z Flip inside

We have received official press images of the upcoming Galaxy Z Flip; Samsung's 2nd foldable phone. Available in black and purple, it has an old-fashioned clamshell design and is in direct competition with the Motorola Razr 2019.

We knew he was coming, what he would look like and what specs he would get; the Galaxy Z Flip. Although that has changed a lot in the last few weeks. The price almost went over and the aircraft went from high-end to mid-range and back to high-end. There was also a lot of uncertainty in the camera area, but all that is now coming to an end.

We found the first pictures at WinFuture which also provides us with specifications. They attach the 6.7-inch Infinity Flex panel with 22:9 ratio and Full HD resolution. Unlike the Galaxy Fold, the screen of the Flip is made of real glass; Ultra Thin Glass. That should make it more durable, although there is still a plastic layer on top to protect it. So it probably doesn't feel like a real glass panel.

Conservative camera selection

In the middle of the screen is a 10 megapixel self-image camera at the top with an f/2.0 lens. The screen does not have a built-in fingerprint scanner; it is located on the side of the housing. By the way, that housing is made of Gorilla Glass 6 and has a second screen of 1.06 inches. Big enough for notifications and time. For the time being, this screen does not appear to respond to touch.

On the outside we find two cameras, both 12 megapixels. Samsung chooses a regular camera with f/1.8 lens and an ultra-wide-angle lens of 123° and f/2.2 aperture. The whole is powered by a Snapdragon 855+ with which WinFuture rightly notes that the Galaxy Z Flip does not have 5G. There is 8 GB of RAM and the storage memory is 256 GB. That's so much because the memory is not expandable. The battery consists of 2 parts and has a total size of 3300 mAh. There is support for fast charging up to 15 Watts via a USB-C port. Wireless charging is also possible.

The 'Z' of?

We also receive images from @evleaks that immediately make clear why Samsung has chosen the letter Z. Probably this will be the new serial name for all foldables. Whether this means that the successor of the Galaxy Fold will be housed in this series as well, remains to be seen.
