Nokia G20 product description

The Nokia G20 is a well affordable Android smartphone with an extra long battery life of 3 days. The device is also equipped with a quadruple camera and multiple microphones which can record spatial sound. Here's how your videos can benefit from this.

Affordable, good camera, big battery

HMD Global, the maker of this Nokia G20, clearly wanted to deliver an affordable phone with a good camera and long battery life. They certainly seem to have succeeded. The camera system on the back counts a total of 4 sensors, of which the sharpest is 48MP. There is also an ultra wide-angle for spatial wide-angle shots and a macro lens for extreme close-ups. The fourth and final sensor is a depth camera of 2MP that allows you to shoot portrait photos. Especially the 48MP main camera is very useful for daily use. Video has been thought of as well. Sound is recorded spatially thanks to OZO audio.

Safe choice

The battery inside the G20 has a capacity of 5050mAh. That's big but by now not unique. Still, HMD Global thinks you can get up to 3 days of use out of that. This is partly due to the use of a bare version of Android. By leaving out the bells and whistles, you save on battery. An additional advantage of Android One is that you get 2 years of Android updates and 3 years of monthly security updates. Well as safe.

Main Nokia G20 specifications

  • 6.5 inch large HD screen with notch for selfie camera
  • 48MP camera along with ultra wide-angle, macro and depth lens + spatial OZO audio
  • 5050 mAh big battery for up to 3 days of battery life
  • Android One with 2 years of Android upgrades and 3 years of security updates
  • Fingerprint scanner in button on the side
  • MediaTek Helio G35 processor with 4GB of RAM memory
  • 64GB of storage (expandable up to 512GB)
  • Dual SIM support (2x nanoSIM)

Does what it needs to do

For relatively little money, you can get your hands on quite a nice phone. Because you can't have everything, it also lacks something. The screen resolution is on the low side, altho it is still HD quality. The built-in processor is not the most powerful either. The Nokia G20 is no stranger to a few hiccups. Fast battery charging is also not an option, and the G20 cannot use 5G. And then there is the somewhat boring design. Still, the G20 stands its ground in a highly competitive market thanks to its strong features and no-nonsense approach.
